Daily Notes for Sunday September 7th. Rained quite a Bit yesterday. Cloudy and Damp this morning.

I worked on a few index cards yesterday while watching PBS Cooking Shows and European Soccer.  This was black and white until I recalled husband having colored Sharpie pens...went looking...found five.  Used gray and pink on this one.   The black ink drawings went faster than the coloring.  Not my favorite colors...I like the lighter ones...That occur in nature.  I wonder what he needed the Sharpies for????? Daughter will know.. picture could be brighter but is very cloudy here in Maine.  The colors are dismal due to the darkness outdoors....it's really dismal in the house. also.

1.  It actually rained. (thunder)...and my yellow dry lawn has a few spots of yellow green now..  But anything is an improvement on the dead dry color it was.  Every other yard on this street is a very very healthy GREEN.  I want to add a handmade sign to my yard... Tru Green Is Responsible for This Lawn.

2.  Son mentioned this morning that he does (in fact) like Pot Roast....so...I'll make some. In 11 days. Or Earlier.  Birthday Pot Roast.

3.  Job Market Collapses and Inflation Rises.  The Orange Man gets both wrong...again.

4.  Two Library books went into the return bag....with only a few pages read (OMG) Awful..  I also had to straighten out the contents of the return bag... as some items weren't ready to be put in the bag. And one book belonged to me.....oops.

5.   I have a pink book and a yellow book to try out today...if they both fail..sigh....I'll return to the Middle Ages.  Which never really disappoints me.

6.  I slept thru Open Wheel Racing this morning- damn. But sleeping is good.

7.  Daughter brought me a new jar of instant decaf coffee (from the Health Food Shop) so I am going to make myself a "nice cuppa" and get on with things..... Still looking for the perfect center square for the purple, Joan....everything I have tried has failed to impress me.  I might have to settle for PINK. OMG.

Daily Notes- Anticipating Thunder Storms Today. Overcast and damp right now.

As you can see...I made this one on September first.  And perhaps it's been seen previously.  I had nothing else here on the desk ready to go.....I need to make some additional ART.

1.  While watching Soccer today.(many games on tap).I will try to do some additional drawings. Color them later.

2.  I made Green Peas and Rice yesterday.  Been quite a while since I did that....I add Sweet Soy Sauce to it.  I also ate the remaining baked sweet potato.  Today I think I am having the "Final BLT of the 2025 Summer Season".  With an excessive amount of bacon.

3.  I have to decide on the "Special Meal" I will make for my Birthday later this month.  I stopped making things with Beef  (Pot Roast is my all time favorite) when husband forgot to chew and swallowed and choked.  Way to have a birthday........not.  So NOT.  Son does not like Pot Roast....so something else. Perhaps Eggplant Parm. Very labor intensive but..once made- plenty to eat.

4.  This morning, before actually getting out of bed, I was contemplating what my Life might have been like if I had actually NOT married the man I married....a man who was a mistake (our anniversary is fast approaching).  I don't think I would be here typing each morning.

5.  I have been wondering where my folding Art Box is...I am thinking seriously about painting small portraits of FRUIT for a few months.  Watercolor. And perhaps giving a landscape-- just one as a trial run----a try.

6.  I am going to read today... just like I did yesterday....and hopefully.....just like yesterday, I will cry my way thru the last pages and the "happily ever after". Something I never experienced in my own Life. Which is WHY I read Romances.  I've spent the past few days crying and I am hoping I get over it....sooner rather than later.  Even while watching Soccer. Well, I see grown men in the Soccer Stadiums all the time, in tears.  Soccer can be very emotional.  I understand.

7.  I didn't buy ice cream bars yesterday....but I will get ice cream closer to my birthday.  I wish I lived near you Connie and got to sample that wonderful ice cream you love...so much.  The Blueberry sounded awesome.

Additional post so you get some ART

 Another index card.

1.  It's raining......we have purchased groceries and I bought cheese and didn't need cheese.

2.  Joan in California- I have a stack of purple fabric ready to go-- just need a "center".......

3.  Two Danielle Steele books in today's Library haul...both have a new sticker.

4.   So that's all from the East Coast of Maine....

Daily Notes- Clouds and perhaps some dampness????? Actual Rain would be welcome.

No image as everything in the picture file has already been posted....

1.  Oatmeal for breakfast.  Rain or just Dampness here in Maine this morning. .Fine with that.

2.  The Department of WAR.  Previously known as The Department of Defense.  Sounds like something from the 1940's????   Detention Camps????  Also sounding familiar.  Wake up America.

3.   Library Grocery Store today....the book bag is full of returns....I was not interested in many of the books I checked out last week.  Two I ordered from other libraries are on the shelf waiting for me.

4.  I should be thinking about meals for the coming week.  Like regular dinner items...it seems like something I did long ago but not recently.  I did finish the Baked Ham.  I have one sweet potato.

5.  I cleaned out the area in front of the large double glass patio door....was supposed to be a deck out there but it never actually happened...anyway the plants had been here in the house for quite a long time- decades???? (since I worked) and some had gotten very "sticky" so now they are in a garbage bag........three survived (for the time being).

6.  I swept up all the leaves etc that got on the floor... A long time ago there was a fireplace...and then there was a wood stove.......and now there is a big glass door that can withstand a hurricane.  Lets in quite a bit of light.

Common Denominator

In all my exchanges with people is ME... so I must be the factor causing things to SOUR.

Daily Notes- Thursday, September 4th. More sun baking the grass to a nice crisp BROWN.

1.   I don't have an image for you this morning...the day got off on the wrong foot with an email from the guy whose company mows my grass.  He said I had been rude to his employees.  I asked them quietly and sadly to not mow yesterday since my lawn (front and back) is dead and brown.  I was close to tears.

2.  An email this morning saying I was rude.  And the two felt uncomfortable with that. Then why were they smiling and nodding because they were told not to mow if the customer wanted them to not mow.

3.   I find it difficult to even consider that I was rude as my overall feeling about my brown crisp dry lawn is complete sadness.  Like mourning the death of my lawn.

4.  Perhaps it would be in my best interests to not speak to ANY ONE ? Ever. Again.

5.  With that in mind- this post will end with me saying...that's it for today and I will try again tomorrow.

Daily Notes- Wednesday. September 3rd. A Sunny Day.

Scribbled. From some other time. Found yesterday in old notebook.  Passiflora Caerulea.  Back when I used Latin.

1.  To Joan in California...I HAD a selection of purples here (to my left) in a sandwich bag ready to go since the Very Beginning.... I have NOT been hand sewing (possibly a MONTH) now.  Busy reading.  But the purple baggy is Ready to Sew when the reading is finished and since I owned few purple fabrics I think they are from you.. one or two "look" like me.  I need an interesting center square.  The center is always the biggest hurdle. Sets the pace for all the other strips. It's where I get STUCK.

2.   I also found (in a desk drawer I emptied) cut out big black block paper letters for the desk calendar and a hand full of assorted pens...ordinary ones.  All with black ink except for one with white ink.  And a very nice pair of scissors which I hadn't seen in DECADES.. and the Art up top. Life is always a Surprise.

3. The September Desk Calendar already looks like a War Zone.  In heavy Sharpie Black.

4.  I'm working thru the fridge.. I have one baked sweet potato and some Noosa Yogurt.  Salad and a slice of Sunday Pizza.  Shaved Baked Ham.  Some Toasting Bread.  Cheese. Pickles.  None of it looks like a meal but does resemble a series of "snacks".  Like yesterday. And today and then tomorrow.

5.  The Outdoor Container with a Haircut looks very nice this morning...plant decided to perk up. Live..

6.  Felt normal to be on the street yesterday TALKING to PEOPLE.......on my walk.

7.  Someone called.... didn't identify themselves and so I hung up on them.... just saying my name isn't going to get you anywhere these days...all the robo calls start with my name. Saying my name and then yours might work.... but the robo calls do that as well...I greet those calls with silence....then I hang up. I used to suggest the person calling try and find a better source of employment...that was a mistake.

8.  The guy across the street is NOT building a Sauna.  It's a Shed.  He looked like he might have liked a Sauna................

9. My favorite number....so people....I am still alive, eating, drinking liquids, doing very little on the many  unfinished Suduko Puzzles I have piled up on the breakfast table, hoping there's some English Soccer but knowing there is NONE. Planning to finish reading my Medieval Romance.  I never got back to it. Damn. And watching a few more recorded Law and Order episodes minus the final 5 minutes.

10.  Listening to an Opera CD....as soon as Son leaves to eat lunch...I want it LOUD.. I want to feel it and cry. Probably AFTER my walk.  Which I should get started on.

Daily Notes for Tuesday, September 2nd. Sunshine....

I drew and colored this for all of the 5 of you STILL reading this blog. (2 related to me)

1.  I am planning to ask my son to FIND the screens that go into the living room windows...I'd like some fresh air.  Some oxygen.  I think he's the one that removed them in last Fall so he should know where they are... like the Boiler in the crawl space- I would also FUNCTION better with more oxygen. (I did look around for them in the garage but didn't see them).

2.  Oatmeal for breakfast and drinking my coffee and taking my pills--the tiniest Statin they make, a  Multi Vitamin and a Tylenol.  At my age....this is actually unbelievable.  I think I could skip the Tylenol and some days I do.  I am sneezing quite a bit today...no allergy pills.  I might check and see if I have any..

3.  I have to change over the desktop calendar.....September.  The August page is loaded with stuff.  Busy month.

4.  Soccer and Antiques's Roadshow yesterday....

5.  I'd like to finish the Medieval Romance (with Time Travel) today...and move on to a library book.  And I MIGHT (in caps) do some hand sewing of a strip or two on one of the squares.  If I have to go looking for cloth or cut strips- it won't happen.  It's going like that these days.  I'm in my Fussy State of Mind.

6.  Son is going to see if he can find the screens....he also mentioned that a few items the Recycling Bin were NOT items belonging in the Recycling....... I was "pushing my limits"

It's September- Finally!!!! Sunshine, a bit of a chill in the air....

Another bird.  Colored during a Law and Order episode. Yesterday.

1. 71 degrees and Sunshine here in Maine.

2.  Pulled some weeds after uncovering the containers of Annuals.  The small container, in the shade some parts of the day, looks very perky but has been nibbled by deer and has an Ant Colony on one particular  sticky plant with blue flowers.  Ick.  Not the blue flowers- I love them- but the ants.

3. Pulling weeds is not an easy choice for me as I have always had balance issues.  So the "pull" could send me flying to land hard on my butt.  I always prepare myself for the fall.  Today I stayed upright for three pulls and called it a WIN.  Sandy soil so they actually come out with roots attached.  But they always return.

4.  My Sweet Potatoes got baked and my lunch for two days is taken care of.  Like money in the bank. I also have baked ham to eat-......I think with cheese..

5. Missed walking yesterday so today- I might try for a "double".  If it stays cool.. I don't walk if it's really warm.  Because there are no people to rescue a fallen old woman.  The sign at the end of my street is accurate... Dead End.  Sign has extra big lettering. I take my phone on the walks- I'll get all of you a photo.-- I take the phone so I can call for help.  If I fall down.....

6.  My dreams last night included my Senior Year Dorm Room... 4th floor single...incredibly tiny. And the unlimited hot water in the shower down the hall no matter how long I stayed. And I stayed.  And NEVER saw anyone else in the bathroom- EVER..... Connie will remember the name of my dorm- I don't remember it.  Connie also knew the cafeteria in that dorm had an ice cream machine.....I DID NOT KNOW......and am still fussing about it.

7, I ordered a book titled Four Engagement Rings.......from interlibrary loan.  Just the title was enough to get my imagination going.  I'm still reading One Magic Moment. Lynn Kurland.  It's one I own. And I am going slowly as I don't want it to end.  Next up is Never Too Late by Danielle Steele.

As you might guess I am "all over the place" with what I read. But they all have Romance. Because I never had any of that in my own Life.  Reading about it is as close as I'll ever get.

Daily Notes- Sunday, August 31st. Bit of Rain yesterday and today Sunshine.

I drew things on index cards but haven't colored them as yet.  I like this one.  There's another weird  "bird" for later in the week.  Needs coloring.

1.  Shower before breakfast.  I didn't pass out or anything.. I'm nice and clean.

2.  I skipped the open wheel racing and had my oatmeal and read the Sunday Paper.  Did very poorly on the Suduko puzzle.  Didn't even try the Jumble.  There is an English Soccer game on today...

3.  Sunday Pizza later...and I have a note on the stove for son to put my two sweet potatoes in the oven when he preheats it. (and while the Pizza bakes ).  I finished with the hot dogs and will be eating the sweet potatoes this week.  With butter and cheese. Also left over pizza with a big salad.  Need to think of something to eat on Thursday.  Oh, Yogurt?????

4.  Still reading One Magic Moment.  Too many other things going on.........

5.  I will pay attention and decide when to go for my walk....too soon after I eat is never a great idea. My body is busy digesting and not interested in pushing blood into my brain.

6.  I need to either work on the cloth squares or put the piles of cloth strips in the basket...they are cluttering things up.  Usually I like "Cloth Clutter" but not this week.

7.  Counting down to my birthday....I am going to be very very old.....next year.

8.  After the walk I might investigate a round rock I noticed in the gravel near the street.  Carry it home to join my other rock.  Also flat.  Also roundish.  Was thinking of a stack of them.  And realized I would only have the two.....I believe a stack would be three.

Enjoy the flowers up top....drew them for YOU!!!!!

Saturday, August 30, 2025

Daily Notes- Saturday, August 30th. 69 degrees with Sunshine here in Maine...in August.

I got this one off the internet but plan on doing a few index cards today.....I love the shapes on the vase.    We'll see what happens.  Perhaps another bird.

1.  Reading One Magic Moment by Lynn Kurland- started it yesterday. AFTER arranging book titles into a nice list.  I'm missing four books.  And that is doable (for buying). I have gotten one of the Library Desk people interested in the books..... she's reading Dance Thru Time (library copy).  First book in the entire series. I don't own a copy.  Might be hard to find.

2.  Began the day with thoughts of HOW I got this far in Life and where to go Next. What to Want Next. My Lunch Buddy wants an upgrade on the Waiting List for a Senior Living Place.

3.  Everything started beeping- power failure and Son has windows open upstairs and heard the Transformer BLOW.  I'm typing so I have power...would have been interesting to hear the generator start up.  I believe every house on the street now has a whole house generator.

4.  Neighbors (half of them) also installing new roofing.  We are not.  Son says ours is "new enough". The back side of the house roof looks brand new.  The Sunny Side.  The front is the Shady Side.

5.  PBS Cooking Shows today and then...Soccer.  I have hot dogs for lunch- the last two.

6.  I feel like I have spiders in my hair.

7.  Xfinity warning me that "old mailboxes are expiring". as if I knew what that was.

8.  I meant to mention that selecting clothing is now quite interesting...all my three quarter length Summer Pants need to be rolled at the waist (more than once)...and are actually too WIDE... and the waists are pretty loose. And I managed all this by being FORCED to eat three meals a day....Crazy.

Daily Notes on a Cloudy, dismal, damp 67 degree August Day. In Maine. It started Raining.

I saw this image and was transported back to the days of Water, Paints, Paper.  I don't have this many paint brushes.   I only had a few carefully selected ones that I cleaned and kept in very good condition......I still have them.  One was purchased in Vienna along with the paper I am still using..  I use only watercolors as I NEVER had the cash to invest in oil paints etc while in college. I think I might have enjoyed oil painting.  Pretty sure I would have.

My manual pencil sharpener- still in use--was purchased in Germany.  I sharpened husband's colored pencils every day when he was coloring...now I sharpen my own pencils.  But I rarely color anything these days.  Perhaps this Winter.  I did color quite a bit last Winter.  or the one before.

1.  So..we are definitely in trouble.  In Washington DC.  "We Need A Hero"

2.  Monday..the calendar changes to September.  Time is moving so slowly...which feels odd.

3.  I have ordered a good number of books at the Library...some last evening.  They may or may not have been pulled off the shelves.,..yet.

4.  I will be wearing my orange raincoat today. And my professional grade non slip shoes.

5.   I doubt this heavy rain today will have any effect on my VERY DEAD LAWN. Which is very dry and yellow.  The Google Search Engine had some items they wished to insert HERE.  Eleven of them. I said no.

6.   I am not sure what we will be buying today- only three items on the grocery list. I still have hot dogs and buns....left from last week's shopping...and as it gets chilly- I usually am happy making vegetable soup....so I'll check the vegetable bin.   I have two carrots but no celery and I have one onion. I have one can of white beans and one of black beans...

Daily Notes for Thursday, August 28th. Sunshine, Service Guy working in the crawlspace.

You were going to get an image of something else....but it refused...

1.  A very large guy is now in my very shallow crawlspace under the house.  Working on my Boiler that heats the house and the water we use for showers etc.   He has just reported that the Boiler is oxygen starved. So we need to find a way to give it air but not open the crawlspace to small animals.  Like mice. Who tend to chew on wires......... and I like having electricity.

2.  Son had to wait for his morning shower.

3.  The Morning Newspaper was dismal......sigh.....and I only read the headlines....and have stopped watching MSNBC completely.  There's no point...... the shooting yesterday was more than I could take. Who sold the guy those guns?????  That's the question that needs answering. The why is mental illness. Also television...on Will Trent a few days ago there was a massive gun fight on the latest rerun episode.  Perhaps the Church Shooter watched that episode????  Loaded his guns with bullets....

4. I skipped my Daily Walk yesterday...but today is warmer (sunshine) so I plan to go do the walk...as soon as I press publish here and might do it twice.  The walk not pressing publish twice.

5. September is just around the corner....moments away.

6.  Yesterday's book was The Satisfaction Cafe by Kathy Wang.  I liked it but decided to stop reading it about halfway in....it felt like whining.  There are family members no one likes...but they seem to feel they have to put up with them......you don't....have to.  You can cut them loose and never speak to them again. Let them find their own ways to live.  Without you. (without me)......it works.

7.  Hot dogs again for today's lunch.  Antique's Roadshow if there is a new episode on PBS. If not I'll  select a Library book and give it a chance...... if it fails then I will choose from my own bookcase. I looked for a green ish fabric for the fourth border of a square...I found something but now it's a rectangle.

And I am okay with a rectangle.

Daily Notes on Sunshine Morning here in Maine. Box suggesting 7 Google searches they would like to start.

 Kiwi.

1.  The Sun is shining but it's neither humid nor cloudy.  Not really warm either.  My mouse needed to get charged up. I no longer have one of those little square things to use to move the little arrow around.

2.  Haven't read the daily news as yet or chosen a breakfast cereal.......a very slow start to the day. Summer is driving past us here in Maine at quite a fast speed...and soon I will  compost whatever flowers are still alive in the planter boxes and get someone to help me empty them (soil) and return them to their Winter Storage places. Something I did all by myself for decades. and could possibly still do, if allowed to try.

3.  I have to finish this quickly so I can plug the mouse into the computer to charge it.

4.  Watched Will Trent last night...a repeat that is possibly two years old...and still listed as new in the paper.   I like the Will Trent in the books so much better than this guy- who is great but is not Will Trent.

5.  I have to hurry and eat some breakfast before it is officially NOON.   And time to eat Lunch.  I am hoping for a British Soccer Game or some Antique's Roadshow.  But I do have books to read.....

6.   I went thru my Kurland book list and WOW did I make a mess of it that first go round.   I now have 8 book titles I need to buy.... As my Son has mentioned I need to get over my of dislike Amazon- just wiring that about needing books has opened a Google Search for 10 or 11 things they say I need.  Just got another one.....This didn't begin until I purchased a book.

7. The Female character in my latest book was excited about leaving the past and getting home to  Toll House Cookies....I found a recipe and actually own all the ingredients........ I can't promise I will actually make cookies but it's nice to know it's POSSIBLE.

8.  That's all....had a good long talk with myself this morning- out loud- and feel like a bunch of emotional garbage has been bagged up.....  Garbage- Baggage...same difference.  Moving on. Hopefully.

Daily Notes for August 26th. Sunshine here in Maine. Robo Calls all day long.

Another odd index card.  Looks like a game machine.

1. Dentist was lovely...my teeth feel all smooth... the X-rays were not so nice.

2.  The outdoor containers; plant netting had a very large BEE caught... I shook it out.  Plants are getting a bit raggedy.....I clip off the flowers going to seed.  In another part of my Life: I would have saved the flower seeds and used them to grow my own plants. Some parts of my Life were quite interesting.

3.  Someone is getting Propane.  Not us.  The only Propane run item we have is the super expensive  Whole House Generator....  I read somewhere that open flame items contribute to asthma in children. And I think make adult asthma worse.  So my lovely new stove is electric.

4.  DEBL recommended Moonstruck to me... the OPERA in that one is very very nice. And like DebL- reminds me of myself summer in New York. I have it in my TiVo.... When I watch it I always wish I had had a family like that.....to sit down for every meal...argue, care for each other etc. There's a lot of LOVE in that movie.

5.  The first book in Kurland's  Middle Ages MacLeod series is still churning along.  They are all about to walk across a certain area of grass and walk into the Future.  And James MacLeod will be driving a dark green Jag instead of riding a horse going forward.  Not everyone survives that last battle, though. Next up is The Very Thought Of You.

6.  BLT for lunch yesterday and today it's HOT DOGS......can't wait.  I might even have baked beans.

Monday, August 25, 2025

Daily Notes on a Cloudy Early Morning in Maine. it might have rained a bit. things look wet.

Something a bit different today.... a strange new index card bird.

1.  .Daughter is having MUCH needed plumbing work done in the basement at her house....and some work on her bathroom.  She is off to buy herself a new toilet which the guys will install..  I showed her ours and she took a picture.  Her father was sent off to buy new toilets when the guys were doing the floor tile in our own two bathrooms.... and had removed the old toilets and tossed them in the construction bin.  With my permission.

2..Writing checks for large amounts...I think of husband at these times....he would do anything for his girl.

3.  I will be having my teeth cleaned and polished this afternoon......I have sensitive teeth so this will NOT be pleasant.  I usually call '"time out" several times during the cleaning.  They do put something on my teeth to make them less sensitive but it doesn't really knock back the sensitivity much.

4.  I am (still) enjoying Book One of the Kurland series----  Dance Through Time. The"bad guys" have just set an old woman on fire -alive- because they think she might be a witch.   I WAS enjoying the book until those few pages...and being tossed in the "pit"- read this as an early Septic Tank with snakes.---GAG.

5.  Like the lead woman in the book- I also would have shoveled the garbage off the stone floor and scrubbed it clean. And also taken over the kitchen.  Bread with rocks in it?????  No underwear?  It makes my old couch and the fridge sound like Heaven....oh, and a flushing toilet.  Double Heaven. A Hot Shower????- Triple Heaven.

6.  I am counting the days until my birthday and the Tiramisu Cake from the bakery.  It's still a long ways away.

7.  I caught the end part of Pretty Woman on TV and then set the TiVo to record the movie when it started up again. One channel will do that...run a movie and then run it again.  It's been decades since I saw that movie.  It's sort of like reading one of my romances. I cried during the opera part.  I always do if any movie has opera. I have several opera CD's and cry thru them as well..........I also like that French woman who makes me cry when I listen to her CD- Edith something that stars with P.  I'd go find the CD and the name- but........then I would want to start listening to it...best as something AFTER the TEETH...

Daily notes on a breezy, sunny Sunday in Maine.

1.  I had to play "fool the Computer" to get the photo where I wanted it and text where I wanted it.

2,  Reading another Kurland from the Library Collection..A Dance Thru Time. Very very vague reminders that I read this once, a LONG time ago.  Even owned the book a long time ago before it got burned up in an apartment fire- not my apartment.

3.  I thought I wasn't going to like the book- but I was WRONG.

4.  Reading the first of any series is sort of like turning over the puzzle pieces after you emptied the box on the table.   You see the beginning....you see the threads of the other stories.  All the pieces are there just jumbled up.

5.  My LL Bean watch has finally been fitted out with a fresh new battery.  So now I can attach it to my purse strap and know what time it is.  I rarely wear anything on my person.  No rings.  No nothing. I have ALL of that and it's all quite lovely......but I don't wear it.  After reading so many time travel books I have a certain feeling that in some other Life...NOT wearing rings was important. Or. a more recent life (this one) where wearing the rings was meaningless.  And knowing what time it was....not necessary.

6.  Soccer has already started and I need to get the tv going.  The newspaper was fine.... the Suduko difficult.

7.  Pizza today at 4 pm....  I really would like a square of whatever that is pictured at the top.

Daily Notes from Sunny and Cool Maine... Sea Breeze coming on shore.

My sister in law sent an email regarding yogurt yesterday and this morning a full repost from the INTERNET on yogurt.  The one I eat is not on any of the lists.  The winner is French Yogurt which my brother LOVES....  I have eaten this ..and loved it also...and of course, you all know, I would love the tiny glass jar as well.

1.  The internet obviously reads my email.

2.  My Daily Yogurt was not on the list- Noosa.  I mix mine with strawberry rhubarb fruit jam and Bran Buds.

3.  I am trying to read my way into a new (to me) time travel/knights in smelly castles romance.  Print is as tiny as this type. No, tinier.  As tiny as print on the French yogurt label.  Not really. Somewhere between. My eyes get exhausted and I have to stop reading.......then I get sad and have nothing to do.

4.  Sun is shining bright here in Maine.  Great weather for boating (sailing of all kinds)..... bike riding, driving with the top down etc.  For me...it's a brisk (defined by age) walk to the end of the street and back home.  Once. Then the couch to recoup energy.

5.  There is British Men's Soccer... yesterday's game was 5 to 1 when I showed up...not a chance of gaining four goals.....so I moved on to something else.  And then shut off the tv.  I did set the TiVo to record the Saturday Cooking Shows.  Which I will watch now or later.

6.  I got my coffee just right this morning....a faint chocolate whisper.   And with that happy note- I sign off.

Friday, August 22, 2025

Daily Notes- Friday, August 22nd, Why do I keep buying Town Trash Bags??????? Weird Memory Loop.

You get a leafy NOT Square image today.  The pencils have twirls of many colors in the lead.  You can sort of see it in the purplish colors.... Too much color.  Too similar. A real Fail.

1.  Shower today before grocery store- not the best idea I have ever had.  Dizzy.  I haven't walked much this week because of the slight dizzy feeling----smacking my face on the street asphalt would not be great.

2.  I got shaved baked ham, hot dogs and buns for lunches this week.  Protein???? I also have cheese for grilled cheese and pickle sandwiches.  I would have really liked French Fries but way too much salt content. Son says I only eat SUGAR.  I wish!!!  My True Love is SALT which makes me puff up.

3.  I found images of Nazi concentration camps in the last 20 or so pages of my Library Book.   I showed the disturbing addition- small cut out images including Trump-- to the gals at the check out desk....  sigh..  It was difficult to think = why????  In a Romance Novel.

4. Going thru my closet to find something to wear....takes up a great deal of my time each day before breakfast.....so I usually end up wearing what I wore the day before unless I spilled something on myself and......got dirty.

5.  That's about all I have to share with you today...new (vintage) linen pants from the closet that finally fit and are perhaps a bit loose, the Library book. my Future Lunch Choices.....the pants feel "new" since I never fit into them before now....and at 25 cents- I bought ANY linen pants the Bean Employee Store had for 25 cents. For the fabric alone..it was a great choice.  I also have on a vintage Bean linen camp shirt-  two dollars.  They were hard to find. And so VERY comfortable in the Summer.  Not the ones with darts... the boxy ones.  I'd love to have more and my son asked- you don't wear all the ones you have...now.....so why???  No reason.

Daily Notes- Thursday, August 21st. Sunshine but very chilly here in Maine.

1.  Called for the Oil Boiler Annual Check Up and Cleaning.. very very long wait on the phone. I got the impression they no longer did the check up.......I still wanted one.  No date was given for the "future" check if there is one...  "we'll get back to you."  Nice.  Last time a guy came he said the Boiler was really full of dust...took him forever to get it all out

2.  Library and Grocery Store tomorrow.  Need to make lists.  Thinking about what I could potentially eat. Potentially ENJOY eating.  And what I do Not want to eat.

3.  Some Very Old Things on Antiques Roadshow yesterday.  Originally aired in 2004 and updated in 2019.  Most items decreased in value over time.

4.  Do you have anything hidden in the Attic that you might take to the Antiques Roadshow?????  I have  my grandmother's Best Dishes boxed up in the Attic- which more than likely wouldn't even sell at Goodwill.  I would have liked my portion of the annual Christmas Ornament Purchases we made as children.  One of my brothers took them all.  Promised not to even leave me a "speck of dust".  Nice.

5.  My husband didn't like Christmas.  The tree.  The lights. The ornaments. The gifts.. I'm not sure he even liked the food.  I liked the tree, the lights, the ornaments and the FOOD which I spent all day making.  I had a tree, lights and ornaments last Christmas.

6.  I need to dress better for the walk- yesterday I was very cold.... Even with the Sun Shining. Long pants and socks and a jacket??????????? A fellow walker said she was also "freezing".

7.  My sister in law sent me a listing of jar lids for the tiny French Yogurt jars my brother loves and I loved  also back in the day....the yogurt came in clear glass jars and the ones I liked and kept were ceramic blue jars.  I kept paperclips etc in the glass ones. No idea where they are.  Now.

8..My husband's high school yearbook arrived in Ohio.  Safe and sound. One classmate had lost theirs and his will be the replacement.  And they will all remember him.....class president.

9.  My yearbook was stolen from my parent's house by that crazy cousin.. my mother also gave away any clothes I left behind......I recall a visit home to the grocery store and saw my favorite yellow dress walk past me.  On someone else.
