Daily Notes for Friday September 25th....Sunshine Yet Again Here in Maine.

Not a cyclone...just the accumulation of desk top calendars.. years worth. Lots and lots of years.  I've created my very own "black hole".... of words...and images.  A daily diary of sorts..

I was thrilled the day I found an empty box perfect for desk calendar storage.... Not too tall and not too wide.

So today I have a leaky, itchy eye....my own fault..It started yesterday and I rubbed it...never do that. and this morning it was stuck shut with crusty stuff...it's fine now. Well, as fine as it can be...

Okay...what's new?  Not much....it's getting colder each morning....the Sun is still very shiny...the grass is green in the back and yellow brown in the front.  Not one clue as to the WHY of it.  Though there is a septic tank back there and it could be providing moisture?????  Back in the olden days when this house was built on vacant land.....sandy vacant land.....they didn't add sewage to the amendments.  And the Town never has revisited that decision.

I continue to watch multiple channels of lame cable tv during each afternoon.  Evenings...I read.  But I haven't been reading.....instead I stare at the walls, ceiling and out the front and back windows... I close my eyes and think about the past.....how I would make different, better decisions if I had the chance of a "do over".  But only if I could remember what I did wrong this time around.  Going in blind I might make the same mistakes.

Well, today is grocery day....I still have a few things from last week that I never ate...  I did finish the store prepared meatloaf dinners...and will not be getting more of those in the weeks to come...I also haven't eaten the prepared Pot Stickers.  I actually thought I would have eaten those by now. I like them.....

So. that's me for today...  I'll change into to a better quality top before we go to the Grocery store.. these old stained men's work shirts are not up to grocery standards.  Though the one I have on is hardly stained at all...and the stains are from the old dye works/painting I did here back in the day. I tend to wipe my hands on my clothing when doing messy work......who cares anyway...no one notices old women.

Daily Notes for Thursday September 24th. Sunshine here in Maine...again. 60 degrees

Nothing like this happening here in Maine.   All the leaves are still green up here.

My car is now fixed...   and tomorrow is grocery day.  I still have things to eat in the fridge...from the last time we shopped.   I also scrubbed the glass top of my new (ish) stove- there must have been some grease on the bottom of my frying pan...it took awhile but the stove top glass is now very very clean.

I also have some ironing to do but not enough items for a washing machine load.

I have been noticing how many people on the TV shows I watch have blue eyes. I know...that sounds weird but once you start noticing it gets more and more interesting..

The newspaper said this was the second hottest summer on record for Portland Maine...I find that hard to believe.  I would believe it was the DRYEST Summer.......we usually have a few really amazing rainstorms with lightning and thunder....but not this year at all.  And perhaps not in a while.

The grass in the back yard is very very green...and needs cutting.  Front lawn not so much.

The Birthday Cake is history but I still have ice cream.

Daily notes for Wednesday September 23rd. Sunshine here in Maine....

 Veggie Sandwiches.

My Little Copper Colored Honda Fit has gone to the Honda dealership to have a recall fix...re-fixed.  It was that or buy a new car.  This seemed less expensive...but my son is there with the car.... for all the hours it takes to do the repair.    We are having an interesting few months. But I doubt he would use the word "interesting".....

My birthday horoscope suggested "lowering my spending and optimizing my earning potential". (funny)

I scheduled a Boiler Cleaning appointment for next week.  Winter Heating Potential.

Both the pictured sandwiches look good to me....the one on the left looks like cheese and salad..I'd eat that.  Yesterday I had a grocery store Meat Loaf dinner... not sure what I will have today.  I also had the last wedge of my birthday cake with ice cream......it was good day.

Cooler weather and sunshine here in Maine....prepping for Winter...lots of acorns on the driveway.

I'm continuing to watch Hudson and Rex. Lots of repeats but the occasional new episode. At first I found the candy colored houses enchanting but now...not so much. I got used to them.  Not much happens but the scenery is interesting.... I might want to visit my northern neighbor some day. See if all the houses are actually candy colored.

Daily Notes for Tuesday September 22nd...Sunshine in Maine. 60 degrees.

Polenta with an egg.  Polenta is cornmeal and water, right???  I have those two things. No egg. My grandmother made me Cream of Wheat and covered that with butter, sugar and cinnamon.  Making me want some.

I'm not sure I agree with putting an egg on everything and anything these days. I hardly ever buy eggs.

I am being harassed on the phone with calls..."hello...can you hear me...etc".  I used to tell them to get a "real job" but that only makes them call more frequently.  I had jobs where I answered the phone but never one where I called and annoyed people.

Not one clue as to how to spend the day.. today...I could continue with sewing scraps of fabric together to make squares...but I need good television programs in order to make that work for me.  Law and Order???? Yesterday I watched Antiques Roadshow.   For awhile and then got bored.  The computer is writing the ends of my sentences for me.

Well, I have nothing of any interest to tell you...going to the Library later than usual is not a good idea... I drifted thru  the bookcases and found nothing....but did get very dizzy so we went home with two books in the bag...  I did return the ones I had in the bag from last week.  I also got a copy of a book I have in my bookcase...a larger sized paperback...easier to read.  The Hating Game...was new decades ago. Bickering office workers.    Take care...enjoy the day.

Daily Notes for Monday September 21st... Sunshine and. Library Visit.

Until I decide what to do about images here...we'll go without.  I doubt more than 5 to 8 people come here to read my boring posts....and most are relatives who already know I am "difficult".  but really I fit better in the definition of the word "crabby".  Negative is also one they use when talking about me.

So the SUN is shining here in Maine...and the leaves of plants outside my windows are sparkling with what looks like morning rain.   thank you!!!! Water is even dripping off the south facing roof.

My Library Bag is filled with books I didn't like or didn't want to read.  Which is why I am reading a book out of my Book Cupboard.  "A Long Time Gone"...it feels familiar so I might not finish reading it. There was an argument about an airport that I recalled....and then switched over to FOOTBALL. Patriots did a very good job.

I resent the overuse of the word "great".. I stop reading a book if it's used too many times as a descriptive ... on one page.

"She's great"....what does that even tell you about a person?????

I actually have stopped watching programs where the word is used for everything...and in books? I stop reading.... older books don't use the word as much...newer ones can't STOP using the word.

What was the most interesting about my book- inside the front over is a name......of the original owner of this book.....a fellow quilter...  She may have actually added a border to my wonderful round robin quilt.

I wrote somethings about the quilt but....it felt too emotional and personal..   I love the quilt.

Daily Notes for Sunday September 20th. Cloudy with a really good chance for some rain.

Well, the strange need for the text to be centered. Habit forming. No sunshine here in Maine this morning and more than a bit of "chill" in the air. I've had to turn on the house lights.  And my Cuddledown  comforter was welcome over night.
And I might need to go find my red sweater.......

Yesterday's book was dismal and I hope the next book is WAY BETTER.

Daughter has offered to do my "Fall Cleanup" of the gardens and seasonal flowering things.
We decided to go pay our Property Taxes together as usual.
Then we had cake and ice cream.. one candle so I could make a  second wish.
I did....make a second wish.

Today is Sunday Pizza and while the oven is pre-heating I will be baking two sweet potatoes..
And while the pizza bakes the sweet potatoes will continue baking...
the potatoes will be part of my lunch or dinners for next week.
I purchased some meat loaf dinners for me to have during the week also.

Well, I have to select a book and see if I want to watch some "Football"
Soccer is more to my liking...fewer guys standing around doing nothing.
And that's my Sunday line up....as usual.
My third day being 80.

Daily Notes for Saturday, September 19th. Sunshine and 58 degrees?????

The image collection over to the right of my screen is getting "thin"..... this image reminds me of my birthday flowers.  My cake and ice cream yesterday was a delight.

I finished Wild Orchids and it stumbled across the finish line like a bag full of loose plot lines and confusion. Another book has gone into the Library Return bag..... after 3 pages.....I need to choose one of the remaining books....TV has nothing for me during the daylight hours....

The cross the street neighbors are being "very busy"....they were standing next to their car moments ago and looking at it...intently..... always the same side and perhaps the tires??????  I haven't noticed any dents.

I have PBS Cooking shows unless PBS is BEGGING yet again... yes indeed, they are begging with shows from the early 60's.  The Chicago PBS station did this differently....showed lots of people on phones... showed the amounts of money being donated....rang bells when they hit goals....it was still annoying...and I always changed channels.

Paramount is still doing crazy things and now wants to sell the company to the Saudi government.  I have one share of their stock....but more if they split....they hardly EVER send me a statement.  I inherited this from my father.

So...nothing to watch and a crappy stack of books from the Library........my day has collapsed.  BUT I noticed a week or more ago that I could READ the tiny print in an old school 4 by 6 paperback...and I have a two foot stack of them in the book cupboard.  Been decades since I read them.  Not a clue why I suddenly can read tiny print -well inked.  ( a birthday surprise????)

My morning coffee needs a re-heat and then I'm on the couch until I require a very very late lunch. I have started drinking my salty electrolyte water with my morning pills ....a few more days and I'll know if it's a good habit.

Daily Notes for September 18th. Sunshine here in Maine and 65 degrees

It's my Birthday and I shed some happy tears already.....aren't these flowers gorgeous?  From my brother and his wife.  They always send the most beautiful flowers..... thank you Bill and Susan. I very much appreciated emails from former co-workers....Janet and Renee.  Thank you both.  My Bankers sent a lovely card signed by everyone.... they take such good care of me. Answer all my questions.

So Finally I can say I am Eighty Years Young.  I've actually been telling people I'm 80 for a few months  ... I just get so excited about having a Mile Stone Birthday.  And tomorrow is the first day of my eighty first year.

Today is grocery shopping day and the store bakery usually has nice small cakes....and the freezer section has delightfully good quality ice cream....  sigh..Life Is Good.

I have books to read...I was trying to finish Wild Orchids last night but gave up and went to bed.  I thought it was Library Day today....but it's not.  I can read slower today.......laughing.

So.... time to get ready to go to the grocery store....the best gift I ever got was this blog and the lovely people who stop by and read my words each day ...or once a week (laughing). thank you !!!!

Daily Notes for Thursday September 17th. Sunshine.and 71 degrees

Amy Roberts Photo

Yesterday and today's book is Wild Orchids.. Devereaux..I have read it before but perhaps not all the way thru??? 104 pages into it and still not a clue as to the story line.  Was on the very bottom book shelf at the Library.... The previous old Devereaux was Hearthstone...I had read it long ago also. Was better than I thought it would be.

I have a headline from the desk drawer clutter clean out yesterday...."Medicare, Social Security Go Broke Dates move closer as health costs rise."  In 2034 they will cover only 81% of costs.  Fourteen Years.  From now.  My monthly check will be 19 percent less????   I'll be 94????

I had the most interesting dream last night....the guy I always liked looking at while eating lunch in the College  Cafeteria stopped by my parents house to visit (me) and the guys across the street walked over to invite him to shoot baskets. I stayed on the porch.  Then I woke up... that's like 60 years in the past....but it was delightful.  He actually DID drive all the way to my house to visit and smile at me....in real life.

But stupid me still managed to marry the wrong guy. Who hardly EVER smiled at me.

So....now you know why I read Romance Fiction.  And sort of wait for the other guy to show up on the porch...we'd both be really old.

Daily Notes for Wednesday September 16th. Sun drifting in and out here in Maine.

I don't have much in the way of images for the blog right now. I should drag any image I use to the wastebasket here at the lower right on the desktop screen. immediately  Start a new habit.

There is nothing much going on here.... I continue to watch Hudson and Rex.  I have many recorded episodes.  Hudson is a tall thin dark haired man in season one and drives a blue car......the other guy must replace him after this season ends????  I like the other guy better... his car is the same color as my Honda. and he has blue eyes and curly hair.  Nearly everyone on the show has blue eyes.

I keep hoping to find something else to watch in the weeks and months ahead.....I also am 2/3rds into Heartwishes by Devereaux.  And I have more books on the pile to read...  TEN to be more specific.   The weekends are very long and tedious.. So I like having books on hand.  Unless, after my  birthday...I take up napping.  (Deb..I really really cannot stream!!)

The closer I get to my milestone birthday.. (I am hoping I get cake and ice cream) the more exhausted I am....the less interested I am in the news...I have always paid attention to the news.  Now I don't.  I just noticed I haven't been crossing off the days on my desk calendar...  I stopped on the 10th.  I have decorated the day of my birthday here on the desk calendar like a  Parade Float.  I'll snap a photo for you on Friday.

That's all I have to say.... everyday seems just like all the previous days (except for the DMV yesterday).  All the library books are starting to seem like all the other library books.  The Sun always shines....it never rains.  The grass has started to green up ( the tiniest amount)  just when I was getting used to it being light BROWN.

I'm even starting to think my very heavily weed filled garden beds are normal.  Earlier this summer, looking at all the weeds made me cry. Literally made me cry.  Now?  I don't even bother to look out the windows. Something tall and blue is flowering... I haven't asked anyone to see if the grape vines made grapes this year. I don't dare try walking out and down to the fenced garden...myself.

As I close in on my birthday I have gotten unsteady on my feet.

Daily Notes for Tuesday September 15th. Sunshine and neighbors getting a "Heat Pump"

Chicago's Jordan Marsh Blue Berry Muffins.

I've eaten them and they are worthy of every good thing written about them.

Woke up with one itchy eye.  Drops have been applied.

I recall reading Nancy Thayer books and will be doing some research. \

My Mouse Battery's are low and need to be recharged.  And is now doing just that.

If there are errors..excuse them...please. I can't move around as I usually do, and my itchy eye is BOTHERING me.

Garbage and Recycling Day....

So that's it... the weather has changed and I need to find and drag out my down comforter... and fold up and put away my cotton summer quilt.  And on that note I will hit publish and move to the couch and a book I have, I think, read before...even if it has echos of another book I recall reading. memories are doubling down.

Monday, September 14, 2026

Daily Notes for Monday September 14th. Lots of sunshine here in Maine... the back lawn is a bit greenerer.

Helenium- Mardi-gras...... I hesitate to buy more flowers because my beds are full of WEEDS.

I had a bad day yesterday and last night...today it's the Library and for once I have a LIST.  I'm tired.  My eyes are dry...I will add drops to each eye and sit quietly on the couch.  Until we go to the Library.  After Son goes out for lunch.  Top down on his car.

That's it for today....watched a bit of Football yesterday...not much and I lost interest pretty fast. I was fascinated by a German football game earlier in the day and loved hearing the accented English...took me back to very happy times.

I don't have a project for the Death Cleaning this week.  Most of the OLD wine bottles have been opened and emptied. The cupboard on  on the right of the fireplace is almost empty... the cupboard on the left of the fireplace was made for dry wood storage.  when we did the walk thru the Realtor asked if I was going to need fire wood and I said no and she gathered it all up and carried it to her car.   Son thinks this is where the fat black flies come into the house.

That's it...gonna be a very quiet day....

Daily Notes for Sunday September 13th. Raining here in Maine...can you believe it???????

I've had my oatmeal.....but would like TOAST... there is enough bread... this looks like French toast... I have no eggs.

I have on 25 cent corduroy pants...defective ones from LLBean Employee shop.   A long sleeved tee shirt and a very nice (ironed) pale yellow linen blouse completes the outfit....I'm still cold.

I center parted my hair for the first time..and I double that I will do this again....I recall the center part and the very long hair tied back while pregnant with Son.   I didn't have extra money for a haircut.  Husband was having trouble staying employed.. he hadn't applied to McDonald's as yet.......match made in Heaven as they say.

I think those early years of husband coming home to say he'd lost yet another job...are deep set...Why I wear my 25 cent corduroy pants and mend them as they wear out......new ones at Bean are about 80 dollars. I'm not going to live long enough to make 80 dollars worthwhile.  And all I do is sit on the couch. Well, I do get up to fill the bird baths and starch and iron shirts.  Yes...I iron.

We make Sunday Pizza and that's about it until I start making Vegetable Bean Soup for Winter Food.  In between Summer and Soup I make steamed rice and green peas with lots of butter and sweet soy sauce and bake sweet potatoes with the Pizza  on Sunday.  I like the sweet potatoes with melted Swiss cheese and butter.

Son uncorked and emptied the very very old dust covered wine bottles (improperly stored by me)......helping me with my  death cleaning project.   I have another shelf full of bottles I laid on their sides.  Hopefully the corks will hydrate. I doubt the wine is any good but it will be easier to remove the corks?????.

Well, I have the remainder of my current book to read and there are two and possibly three more in that  Brides series.  Then I will move on to something else.  Tomorrow is Library Day. So if there are more Brides...I hope my Library has them and that the shelf they are on is not too close to the floor..  I'll make a list today of what I own....so as not to duplicate.

And I think I will make myself some TOAST........why not?

Saturday, September 12, 2026

Saturday, September 12th. Sunshine here in Maine. 69 degrees

The internet provided me with four orange and yellow images of flowers...  thank you!!!

The sun is shining.... I'm happy whenever that happens. I'm going to be skipping a whole section of For All Time as they go back in Time....I've read it once or twice and it was enough......I'll page thru until they are back to the present.  Well, they're present and not mine...with cars and airplanes.

I'm tired.  Some of it is physical and most of it is emotional.  I get sad when I am tired.

I looked at flowers in pots when we visited the grocery store Friday.   But I walked past and didn't buy any.  I should have and had one of the pots on the front steps.....which reminds me to check the water levels in the birdbaths.......and anyway I should always be freshening up the water.....

I will buy flowers for myself next week when we shop....no matter how expensive they are.

I have a cartoon here on the desk. "The Good News is it's too late for you to have Early Onset Anything" which is actually sort of a positive thing?????

Friday, September 11, 2026

Daily Notes for Friday September 11th. 9-11.

Ironweed.  I remember having this in the back garden bed... I should plant more.

September 11th.  I had two gals cleaning my house that day while I was getting ready to leave for work at the Library....they were screaming...  I ran to find out what ??????  the three of us stood close together watching the Towers fall... the two planes crash...... tears running down our faces.....and then I went to work.  Where it was very very quiet on my drive into Town.  No birds...I recall that... no birds. Silence.

And then the church bell started...bong bong bong.  Silence and then bong, bong, bong..... I remember it. the endless, sad sound of those bells.  Planes were landing in Bangor.  Where they had a  long enough runway...others were turning and returning to Europe if they had enough fuel.

I remember it being a beautiful sunny day here in Maine.  A Fall of Marigolds has 9-11 as a central theme. I've read the book several times.  Today is another beautiful sunny day.....

So I started my second book yesterday after reading book one...  "For All Time".  I'm not sure but I think today is Library Day .. (it could be grocery day.)    So I can get a few more books for the week (though I have plenty in the bookcase)..  Reading is a good habit for me to cultivate.....to pass time each day.

Before my memory turns to dust.  Most of my clearest memories are my oldest ones.

Thursday, September 10, 2026

Daily Notes- Thursday September 10th. Sunshine here in Maine and 81 degrees. Heat Wave.

How is this for Coastal Living?????  In Maine.  sort of a gigantic House Boat.

So 81 degrees- hotter than it's been all summer.  I think.  Cool in the house as I rarely if ever have windows open which reminds me...be back in a second...

Bedroom windows were open overnight for cool air...now it's not cool air....and they are closed.

Continuing to read True Love......we haven't gotten to the best parts yet.  And I actually am wanting to get to book two which I sort of like a great deal.  I think.  We'll see.

Daughter brought over some very large plastic hair things... claws.  Now my hair is starting to thin and any pulling . ANY ....it comes out of my scalp.  At the rate it's going I will be wearing a hat the rest of my life. Soon.  So big plastic claw clips...no....but perhaps I can re-use them to do something else around here?

Son has gone out for lunch with the top down on his sports car.  Nice. For September.

Well, the couch is calling my name and I do want to read my book before I start watching  Hudson and Rex.  In the early episodes (on now) John Reardon's hair is very curly and longer than usual.

Hot dogs yesterday and hot dogs today.... Life is good.

Wednesday, September 09, 2026

Daily Notes- Wednesday September 9th. Cloudy and 62 degrees. No chance of rain.

 Another image of Maine.

I would only need to drive 15- 20 minutes along the coast here to see something like this image.  I am close enough to smell the ocean but not to be able to see it.  I also can sometimes have sea birds flying over.  Those trees look like my backyard.  Only 30 years taller.  I can see the sky if I look  straight UP.

No Chance of Rain so the brown and beige lawn will continue.

My iPhone has a recipe for Pie Crust waiting for me...if only I had something to fill that crust...but I don't. I will finish reading High Tide today.... the couple is searching the swamp for GOLD...this is where the alligators come into the plot.

I heated up my prepared Meat Loaf Dinner yesterday..wish I had gotten a second one. Have Hot Dogs for today. So that makes me smile.  French Fries would be welcomed..but I have none.  Onion rings..oh my!!! But don't have those either.

So...today...I already have the living room lamps turned on.  I fluffed up the  pillows and I'm ready to assume my place on the couch.  Sewing and book to my left...TV up front.... there is some British Soccer. There is much more Hudson and Rex.  There is Arnica for the my muscles in my neck that cannot relax. Neck bones that actually make noise when I move my head.....

Heating Pad...Couch....TV...... Hot dogs later.....it's enough..well, it HAS to be enough doesn't it?

Tuesday, September 08, 2026

Daily Notes for Tuesday September 8th. High Tide (book) and few alligators is actually pretty good.

Well, I give up...words want to be centered today....The Deveraux book does have alligators but really the two people are on the run (in a car) from being arrested for murder.  And the actual murderer wants to kill them. Right now they are in a very expensive hotel the Taggert family has found for them...I often think the Taggerts are way richer than the Montgomerys...
I sort of prefer the Montgomery Men and the Taggert Women..

And we have center alignment yet again and NO, I do not know how to get rid of it even thought I have used this program for DECADES.  And have eventually found the way to fix the problem...But not today.

My hair is gathered up at the  back of my head near my neck...just to get it out of my way.  I usually gather it higher into a Soccer grouping but today...not in the mood. The stretchy band holding things together is loose.  Not pulling my hair out of my scalp.

I think we might go to the Library today...it was closed yesterday and that was our regular day. Or Not.
We are going after he has his lunch.. I have a bag full to return.

I have enough books in the bookcase to keep me occupied (if we didn't go) and I have all these cloth strips to sew into strange squares.... I actually wanted to find a certain fabric for the latest square but NO luck..I think I might start another fresh one and see if the missing cloth shows up...eventually. It usually does.
Show up when I give up and start something else.

The Sun is shining and the grass is becoming more brown as we entered September.
Less tan and more brown.
The many many WEEDS continue to grow and stay very very green.
What a very strange Summer it has been.

Monday, September 07, 2026

Daily Notes for Monday September 7th. Sunshine and 66 degrees at 10:16.

Canadian Bees. Will they be allowed to cross the border into Maine?????? To pollinate the blueberries?

The Wine Project went no where...but could be reconsidered as the year ends....or next year. We needed the counter space for pizza making...it was a Sunday after all.

No Library today.  Son mentioned it being closed...for some reason.....well, I discovered today is Labor Day.  It's right here on the desk calendar.  (under the keyboard).

I did pull the Alligator/SWAMP book from the bookcase. But didn't start reading it. Yet.  I got entangled with the New Foundland Police Procedural (Hudson and Rex) on the Happy Cable Channel (1426?).  With the interchangeable lead male characters.  The Dog is the same Dog.????  NO,

Well, in one RECENT episode they actually had 5 dogs...all identical.  So I imagine there have always been 5 dogs. Each with a different set of skills. All of them named REX.  Yesterday's REX climbed  on the roof of a house and thru an open window and took down the bad guy.  Even though it's all nice and happy..they do have dead bodies, guns etc.  Blue Skies had some violence as well...same channel. People rarely if ever kiss...

I noticed we have an abundance of food selections in the fridge ..Pizza, Grilled Cheese  and Hot Dogs,.  I requested hot dogs as I do enjoy them very much in the Summer Months.  And today IS a Holiday..... but usually I love a Grilled Cheese with so MANY pickles.

Well, that's about it for news.  The couch is preparing itself for me to spend the day.  I did watch Arsenal Soccer yesterday...one yellow card after another. No one got a red card- means they get ejected from the game.  There might be a monetary punishment as well.  But they all make tons of money. Millions in the three digits.  Lovely hair styles.  The Soccer Rom Com's I have found to read.... laughing.  Might pull one of them off the shelf for today.  I'm sure a match is on the telly today...or recorded in the TiVo.

Daily Notes- Sunday September 6th. Sunshine and 68 degrees

Working on the Death Cleaning.  There was a two year or more pause in the process (of getting rid of all husband's things) but now I feel like clearing out the living room and tv room.  Considering what to do with the second couch.  I could swap seat cushions between the two and give my butt a "treat"??????  Sounds like a fantastic idea.

Daughter says there are MORE moving boxes for Winter Sorting . An endless number of boxes.

Before the Wine....I sorted out my area of the dining table...unfinished Suduko  puzzles and bill envelopes and cruise invites.  Are now set to be shredded.  And checked before hitting the shred part in case I made a mistake.  I tend toward mistake making..... all the bills I found had been paid...I write paid and the check number and the date on the part I keep for my records.  Always have done. Always will.

I had a good handful of unfinished sudoko puzzles from the morning newspaper..  They are now in the recycling bin.  I will never be able to finish them....

Bottles of Wine...some from when I lived in Germany...some very recent (last 10 years)...I've asked Son to open and dump the wine and recycle the bottles.  If not....I'll put them back in the cabinet.   More "cleaning" of the living room needs doing..  Inspired by the removal of the Chimney Squirrels.

The intermittent cleaning serves to settle my nerves...you would think it would be the opposite but...it feels good to get rid of things I KNOW I will never need. Again.

I'm going to move the wine to a better spot...it's Sunday and nothing gets done around here on Sunday.
