Daily Notes for Sunday September 13th. Raining here in Maine...can you believe it???????

I've had my oatmeal.....but would like TOAST... there is enough bread... this looks like French toast... I have no eggs.

I have on 25 cent corduroy pants...defective ones from LLBean Employee shop.   A long sleeved tee shirt and a very nice (ironed) pale yellow linen blouse completes the outfit....I'm still cold.

I center parted my hair for the first time..and I double that I will do this again....I recall the center part and the very long hair tied back while pregnant with Son.   I didn't have extra money for a haircut.  Husband was having trouble staying employed.. he hadn't applied to McDonald's as yet.......match made in Heaven as they say.

I think those early years of husband coming home to say he'd lost yet another job...are deep set...Why I wear my 25 cent corduroy pants and mend them as they wear out......new ones at Bean are about 80 dollars. I'm not going to live long enough to make 80 dollars worthwhile.  And all I do is sit on the couch. Well, I do get up to fill the bird baths and starch and iron shirts.  Yes...I iron.

We make Sunday Pizza and that's about it until I start making Vegetable Bean Soup for Winter Food.  In between Summer and Soup I make steamed rice and green peas with lots of butter and sweet soy sauce and bake sweet potatoes with the Pizza  on Sunday.  I like the sweet potatoes with melted Swiss cheese and butter.

Son uncorked and emptied the very very old dust covered wine bottles (improperly stored by me)......helping me with my  death cleaning project.   I have another shelf full of bottles I laid on their sides.  Hopefully the corks will hydrate. I doubt the wine is any good but it will be easier to remove the corks?????.

Well, I have the remainder of my current book to read and there are two and possibly three more in that  Brides series.  Then I will move on to something else.  Tomorrow is Library Day. So if there are more Brides...I hope my Library has them and that the shelf they are on is not too close to the floor..  I'll make a list today of what I own....so as not to duplicate.

And I think I will make myself some TOAST........why not?

Saturday, September 12th. Sunshine here in Maine. 69 degrees

The internet provided me with four orange and yellow images of flowers...  thank you!!!

The sun is shining.... I'm happy whenever that happens. I'm going to be skipping a whole section of For All Time as they go back in Time....I've read it once or twice and it was enough......I'll page thru until they are back to the present.  Well, they're present and not mine...with cars and airplanes.

I'm tired.  Some of it is physical and most of it is emotional.  I get sad when I am tired.

I looked at flowers in pots when we visited the grocery store Friday.   But I walked past and didn't buy any.  I should have and had one of the pots on the front steps.....which reminds me to check the water levels in the birdbaths.......and anyway I should always be freshening up the water.....

I will buy flowers for myself next week when we shop....no matter how expensive they are.

I have a cartoon here on the desk. "The Good News is it's too late for you to have Early Onset Anything" which is actually sort of a positive thing?????

Daily Notes for Friday September 11th. 9-11.

Ironweed.  I remember having this in the back garden bed... I should plant more.

September 11th.  I had two gals cleaning my house that day while I was getting ready to leave for work at the Library....they were screaming...  I ran to find out what ??????  the three of us stood close together watching the Towers fall... the two planes crash...... tears running down our faces.....and then I went to work.  Where it was very very quiet on my drive into Town.  No birds...I recall that... no birds. Silence.

And then the church bell started...bong bong bong.  Silence and then bong, bong, bong..... I remember it. the endless, sad sound of those bells.  Planes were landing in Bangor.  Where they had a  long enough runway...others were turning and returning to Europe if they had enough fuel.

I remember it being a beautiful sunny day here in Maine.  A Fall of Marigolds has 9-11 as a central theme. I've read the book several times.  Today is another beautiful sunny day.....

So I started my second book yesterday after reading book one...  "For All Time".  I'm not sure but I think today is Library Day .. (it could be grocery day.)    So I can get a few more books for the week (though I have plenty in the bookcase)..  Reading is a good habit for me to cultivate.....to pass time each day.

Before my memory turns to dust.  Most of my clearest memories are my oldest ones.

Daily Notes- Thursday September 10th. Sunshine here in Maine and 81 degrees. Heat Wave.

How is this for Coastal Living?????  In Maine.  sort of a gigantic House Boat.

So 81 degrees- hotter than it's been all summer.  I think.  Cool in the house as I rarely if ever have windows open which reminds me...be back in a second...

Bedroom windows were open overnight for cool air...now it's not cool air....and they are closed.

Continuing to read True Love......we haven't gotten to the best parts yet.  And I actually am wanting to get to book two which I sort of like a great deal.  I think.  We'll see.

Daughter brought over some very large plastic hair things... claws.  Now my hair is starting to thin and any pulling . ANY ....it comes out of my scalp.  At the rate it's going I will be wearing a hat the rest of my life. Soon.  So big plastic claw clips...no....but perhaps I can re-use them to do something else around here?

Son has gone out for lunch with the top down on his sports car.  Nice. For September.

Well, the couch is calling my name and I do want to read my book before I start watching  Hudson and Rex.  In the early episodes (on now) John Reardon's hair is very curly and longer than usual.

Hot dogs yesterday and hot dogs today.... Life is good.

Wednesday, September 09, 2026

Daily Notes- Wednesday September 9th. Cloudy and 62 degrees. No chance of rain.

 Another image of Maine.

I would only need to drive 15- 20 minutes along the coast here to see something like this image.  I am close enough to smell the ocean but not to be able to see it.  I also can sometimes have sea birds flying over.  Those trees look like my backyard.  Only 30 years taller.  I can see the sky if I look  straight UP.

No Chance of Rain so the brown and beige lawn will continue.

My iPhone has a recipe for Pie Crust waiting for me...if only I had something to fill that crust...but I don't. I will finish reading High Tide today.... the couple is searching the swamp for GOLD...this is where the alligators come into the plot.

I heated up my prepared Meat Loaf Dinner yesterday..wish I had gotten a second one. Have Hot Dogs for today. So that makes me smile.  French Fries would be welcomed..but I have none.  Onion rings..oh my!!! But don't have those either.

So...today...I already have the living room lamps turned on.  I fluffed up the  pillows and I'm ready to assume my place on the couch.  Sewing and book to my left...TV up front.... there is some British Soccer. There is much more Hudson and Rex.  There is Arnica for the my muscles in my neck that cannot relax. Neck bones that actually make noise when I move my head.....

Heating Pad...Couch....TV...... Hot dogs later.....it's enough..well, it HAS to be enough doesn't it?

Tuesday, September 08, 2026

Daily Notes for Tuesday September 8th. High Tide (book) and few alligators is actually pretty good.

Well, I give up...words want to be centered today....The Deveraux book does have alligators but really the two people are on the run (in a car) from being arrested for murder.  And the actual murderer wants to kill them. Right now they are in a very expensive hotel the Taggert family has found for them...I often think the Taggerts are way richer than the Montgomerys...
I sort of prefer the Montgomery Men and the Taggert Women..

And we have center alignment yet again and NO, I do not know how to get rid of it even thought I have used this program for DECADES.  And have eventually found the way to fix the problem...But not today.

My hair is gathered up at the  back of my head near my neck...just to get it out of my way.  I usually gather it higher into a Soccer grouping but today...not in the mood. The stretchy band holding things together is loose.  Not pulling my hair out of my scalp.

I think we might go to the Library today...it was closed yesterday and that was our regular day. Or Not.
We are going after he has his lunch.. I have a bag full to return.

I have enough books in the bookcase to keep me occupied (if we didn't go) and I have all these cloth strips to sew into strange squares.... I actually wanted to find a certain fabric for the latest square but NO luck..I think I might start another fresh one and see if the missing cloth shows up...eventually. It usually does.
Show up when I give up and start something else.

The Sun is shining and the grass is becoming more brown as we entered September.
Less tan and more brown.
The many many WEEDS continue to grow and stay very very green.
What a very strange Summer it has been.

Daily Notes for Monday September 7th. Sunshine and 66 degrees at 10:16.

Canadian Bees. Will they be allowed to cross the border into Maine?????? To pollinate the blueberries?

The Wine Project went no where...but could be reconsidered as the year ends....or next year. We needed the counter space for pizza making...it was a Sunday after all.

No Library today.  Son mentioned it being closed...for some reason.....well, I discovered today is Labor Day.  It's right here on the desk calendar.  (under the keyboard).

I did pull the Alligator/SWAMP book from the bookcase. But didn't start reading it. Yet.  I got entangled with the New Foundland Police Procedural (Hudson and Rex) on the Happy Cable Channel (1426?).  With the interchangeable lead male characters.  The Dog is the same Dog.????  NO,

Well, in one RECENT episode they actually had 5 dogs...all identical.  So I imagine there have always been 5 dogs. Each with a different set of skills. All of them named REX.  Yesterday's REX climbed  on the roof of a house and thru an open window and took down the bad guy.  Even though it's all nice and happy..they do have dead bodies, guns etc.  Blue Skies had some violence as well...same channel. People rarely if ever kiss...

I noticed we have an abundance of food selections in the fridge ..Pizza, Grilled Cheese  and Hot Dogs,.  I requested hot dogs as I do enjoy them very much in the Summer Months.  And today IS a Holiday..... but usually I love a Grilled Cheese with so MANY pickles.

Well, that's about it for news.  The couch is preparing itself for me to spend the day.  I did watch Arsenal Soccer yesterday...one yellow card after another. No one got a red card- means they get ejected from the game.  There might be a monetary punishment as well.  But they all make tons of money. Millions in the three digits.  Lovely hair styles.  The Soccer Rom Com's I have found to read.... laughing.  Might pull one of them off the shelf for today.  I'm sure a match is on the telly today...or recorded in the TiVo.

Daily Notes- Sunday September 6th. Sunshine and 68 degrees

Working on the Death Cleaning.  There was a two year or more pause in the process (of getting rid of all husband's things) but now I feel like clearing out the living room and tv room.  Considering what to do with the second couch.  I could swap seat cushions between the two and give my butt a "treat"??????  Sounds like a fantastic idea.

Daughter says there are MORE moving boxes for Winter Sorting . An endless number of boxes.

Before the Wine....I sorted out my area of the dining table...unfinished Suduko  puzzles and bill envelopes and cruise invites.  Are now set to be shredded.  And checked before hitting the shred part in case I made a mistake.  I tend toward mistake making..... all the bills I found had been paid...I write paid and the check number and the date on the part I keep for my records.  Always have done. Always will.

I had a good handful of unfinished sudoko puzzles from the morning newspaper..  They are now in the recycling bin.  I will never be able to finish them....

Bottles of Wine...some from when I lived in Germany...some very recent (last 10 years)...I've asked Son to open and dump the wine and recycle the bottles.  If not....I'll put them back in the cabinet.   More "cleaning" of the living room needs doing..  Inspired by the removal of the Chimney Squirrels.

The intermittent cleaning serves to settle my nerves...you would think it would be the opposite but...it feels good to get rid of things I KNOW I will never need. Again.

I'm going to move the wine to a better spot...it's Sunday and nothing gets done around here on Sunday.

Daily Notes for Saturday, September 15th. Sunshine.

Unknown artist and Maine in the Fall.

Well....it's been an eventless month so far.   Daughter thought she purchased a Viking book for me to read at a book sale....instead it is a futuristic 8 foot tall Alien Visiting Earth book.  The Viking would have brought a 12 foot long weapon.   The Alien has someone on the space ship talking to him via something or other.--an implant I guess   AND...I've read it before... It's not the author's best work.

My daily dose of Newfoundland detective work has circled back to the first episodes- ones I have never seen.  So that's good.  Hudson and Rex.  If you are interested in site-seeing Coastal Newfoundland from your couch..... I have this comment...the later episodes are more sophisticated and first season is a bit off.

The News isn't fit to read....a gold "plated" coin with "he who will not be named" on the face.  How much longer do we have to put up with ?????  Lake America.  No vaccines... ICE.  They are building one of those prison boxes ...it sounded like here in Maine.  Perhaps arresting people from Florida coming back to Maine with dark suntans???????

Well, I plan to dig around and find something to read....Saturday Cooking shows are being recorded.

Life goes on.........

Daily Notes for Friday September 4th. Sunshine here in Maine- would like RAIN.

At some point in Time I will take actual pictures of things here in my house....but not today.  I have a feeling I may have forgotten how to do the picture transfer thing....

If you don't Use it...you Lose it.   Like with my sewing machine... which I haven't used....in possibly a year or more. Who am I kidding???? several years now.

Today is Grocery Shopping Day....my jam packed Library Bag seems to have alerted my Son to ME thinking I was going to the Library today...I was NOT I was just being disappointed in my book selections. I haven't a clue as to why I added most of those books to the bag.....some vintage Jude Deveraux were Book Club books with the tiniest print ever....daughter got me a bag full at the Library Book Store (once) where they sell donated books....print was half the size of this print. and Jude was not up to speed as yet with  her book writing.  So AWFUL!!!!!  I asked her to return them.

My neck bones are snapping and cracking.... Arnica takes care of it.

I added another row of strips to one of my squares and then ironed it flat.  Noticed it's not actually  "square".  Ironed it flat anyway.  Additional strips will straighten things out.

Lots of cars parked across the road.... excitement.  Yep...that's all the excitement we have around here- parked cars all up and down the street.

Daily Notes for Thursday September 3rd. Clouds and what looks like RAIN.. Wet sidewalks.

One of my Favorite Things.... for lunch.  With pickles.

On this cloudy, cool, damp day in Maine....might just fire up the stove and make one of these.  I might even make some "adapted" canned  baked beans....I add stuff....makes plain canned beans into something wonderful.

My lawn has NO CLUE as to what to make of this wet damp day.  Now I know why the lawn guys came earlier in the week.  Prepping the lawn for watering.

My car didn't pass inspection yesterday... A long ago Honda recall and repair wasn't done right and now...and now I need to have what wasn't done right taken care of.  It looks expensive.  But NOT as expensive as a new car would be.  And at my advanced age...new isn't something worth the expense.

I think my Son scheduled an appointment for the work to be done....it's drivable. And it's the only one of two cars I can get into and out of.... for grocery and library.  And perhaps eventually doctor..

I had to get up and turn on lights....  The bones in my neck are snapping and cracking and making so much noise.  I'm looking forward to hitting publish and making it over to the couch for the remainder of the day.

I discovered all the books I checked out this week at the library..... have BEEN READ by me in previous decades...and they were NOT GREAT the first time.  Time for a deep dive into the HOME bookcase. One or both bookcases.  I could watch a few more Hudson and Rex episodes.  Or if it's find-able-  Storage Wars. I do not want to watch anything that requires my brain functioning at high capacity..  I sorted cloth scraps yesterday.... nothing needed my attention or a threaded needle.....perhaps there will be more interest on my part today?????  So many tubs full of still folded brand new fabric....and I enjoy using scraps.....

Well, it's 3 days into September and I haven't changed my desk calendar....sigh.

Daily Notes for Wednesday September 2nd. Sunshine here in Maine. 75 degrees

Yesterday's book was Heartbreaker by Julie Garwood.   Same FBI guy as the book with the alligator and black snakes.  An earlier book before Garwood "hit her stride" as they say....I'm giving up on page 83.

I have one more Garwood on the shelf but it seems very old as well. With vintage tiny type.....I have stuff in the bookcase to read.  Killjoy will go into the return bag unopened..

I have three older Jane Green books on the shelf-- Mr Maybe is the one I chose for today..... We'll see if I have outgrown that book as well as the others.  Plenty in the bookcase here at home.  Bet Me is calling my name....and has been but the swampy alligator book..I might just have to read that one out of the bookcase.

Why not????

Son has taken my car to be inspected....he'll do computer stuff while he waits and also have lunch.  The new tires were necessary in order to pass inspection also the Town Tax Sticker.  Maine is an Expensive State.  Lots of stickers.  Coming up soon is the tax I pay to LIVE in my HOUSE..... October.

Well, I have cooling tea sitting here by my right elbow and the couch waiting behind where I am sitting... I have to choose a book or a TV program and get started....... my cup of tea was double sugared so it's Georgia Sweet Tea and I like it.  Take care...perhaps tomorrow's post will be more interesting.

Daily Notes for Tuesday September First.. Sunshine and not a cloud in sight.

 Postcard from Provence.

Last of the Oranges.   Will it EVER Rain?????

My hair is wild and wide from the recent shampoo.  I did a load of wash yesterday and got it all out of the dryer this morning...folded and back in the drawers.  My hair has gone rogue.   I can't make it do anything but what it wants..

I found papers (in a box yesterday while "cleaning") I purchased copies of the Declaration of Independence etc. while visiting Washington DC. Long ago.  I also found a stack of directions for making small quilts...they came with cards I could send to friends etc.  When I had friends I sent things to.  I lost the friends along with the cards...perhaps misplaced both.....

Moving so often...packing up household and never actually returning......I lost more than a few packing boxes....I lost friends...I lost roots and memories that connected myself to others.  I was left with just myself for company.

It has to be enough.....but was it?????   I am trying to finished reading the Garland book I started so long ago. I brought home 50 pounds (exaggerating) of books yesterday.  I have books to read...so why do I spend so much time looking out the windows??????

Monday, August 31, 2026

Daily Notes number 5461. I've written that many. Sunshine here in Maine....

 Postcard from Provence.

Today is Library Monday.   New books...nothing was ordered so it's going to be a difficult visit.  Searching for things to read. On shelving packed with both fiction and mystery ...there is often nothing "new" on the "new books" shelving...they spent over a million on knocking out walls and ZERO on books..

We now have a very very large empty space library ...sound echos.

I spent some time yesterday looking things up...authors etc.  I don't recall keeping the list.

I added another round of strips to the red rectangle.  Not a Square.  Something "new".   The strip of dark cranberry picked up on a small line of the same color in the mostly red rectangular cloth (how a square became a rectangle is ....a surprise).   It now has an entirely different vibe...wants to expand. Grow.

I am enjoying the cleared and expanded emptiness of the right side of the living room...all I see is Very nice wood flooring...  I'm in the section supposedly designated as "dining room"........now designated as TV/Sewing/Clutter Room.

I watched a few recorded episodes of Hudson and Rex yesterday.  Nothing much happens. Which is fine as I rarely pay attention to the dialogue anyway. The scenery is very very colorful....the houses painted in bright cheerful set of eight  colors.

Yesterday Son was worried as I was acting more spacey than usual....I was tired and had run out of uninteresting conversation.  Nothing happens here....I could give him a report of the status of the book I am reading....or the cranberry cloth strips???????  Or the itch on my right foot. Or the way my hair was acting....it needed to be washed and I washed it this morning...in the dangerous shower.

So here we are on another Monday...Maine had HOPED it would RAIN. Overnight. I am saving SO MUCH Money on NOT having the grass mowed.

Well, another glass of electrolytes.  "get salty" and I will be ready to visit the Library.

Sunday, August 30, 2026

Daily Notes from the northern most edge of America. Was sunny and now cloudy. 74 degrees

I have some scraps of color matched cloth sitting here waiting to be sewn into a square.  But I have MANY Hudson and Rex episodes recorded and I do enjoy watching the show.....and I have Ideal Man next to me on the couch if I decide to finish reading it.  And perhaps something else on the shelf to read before tomorrow's Library Visit.  The "Library" has decided to NOT be open on Sunday afternoons... "going to hell in a hand basket" sums up their new approach to serving the community.

Divorced fathers brought their young children to the Library on Sunday.........

I have given considerable thought to taking a walk on my dead end street....but have decided again and again that it would not be in my best interests.  It felt doable last year.  Not this year. I am not steady enough.

I found a  book my husband was writing things in.....long ago . (a diary of sorts that I gave  to our Son to read...) while continuing my short spurts of decluttering.  10 or 15 minutes is actually very doable and as  a Virgo I can get quite a bit sorted etc.  It's in the DNA.  I can also make quite a mess while doing a project but I always clean up after myself.

I did NOT sleep well last night and woke up way too early...If I was able to Nap I would be looking forward to one in a few hours.   The bones in my neck are making a great deal of NOISE. I'm moving to the couch and sitting quietly with my book in hopes of the noise going away.  I have British Soccer recorded and PBS has again let me down...showing the same awful vintage stuff.  And asking for money. Never explaining what they did with last year's money...since we had ZERO new programing.

Daily Notes for Saturday August 29th. Sunshine and no breeze shifting the tree leaves.

I FINALLY have all the things needed for the BLT.  And mine actually looked like the photo yesterday.  Not as much mayo.  Son asked me to assemble the next BLT   "on a plate".......  so today, a plate.

I have had my electrolytes.   Feeling "salty".

I have been notified that there will be a Software Update later tonight. I'm supposed to know what they are talking about in saving documents and quitting any open apps.......I have no apps.  No documents. I Will ask son to take care of things...if there are any things.

Am I the only one who wonders how people get hired to make service calls...the gal today was talking like the 8 words in a sentence were all one word and she was being timed to get that one word out as fast as possible. Before I hung up on her...she "almost" made it.

In a Lifetime Ago, I worked on a help line for a magazine publisher...talked to quite a few Prison Inmates who were also  employees of the magazine.... they had the numbers I needed.  It was interesting....I usually was quick enough to end the call before it got "off track".  No one spoke as fast as the gal who called me this morning though.

Yesterday's (and today's) book is Ideal Man. Still going with Julie Garwood and the FBI.  I checked the shelf and there is one more Garwood....Library is Monday---plus three more by other authors new to me..  No need for a panic attack.  Bookcase is FULL of books I own.

Well, a flash of something has settled in my right eye so I won't be reading anything for awhile;  It's a sparkly curved line.  A nice rest on the couch with closed eyes will do the trick.

Daily Notes- Thursday August 27th. Sunshine here in Maine, No Rain, Brown Lawns.

 Postcard from Provence.

I am always very very impressed when this artist shows us a reflection. That is such a difficult thing to get right. Amazing.

My book for yesterday was Mercy by Julie Garwood.  There was a swamp and some alligators. But they made it home safely.....  Momentarily.  Next up is Murder List.  I collected a half dozen books from various places in Maine....Interlibrary Loans.   One a Day Reads.  Better than Vitamins. Or Tranquilizers.

We've been hoping for RAIN.  But the Drought continues.  No ocean breezes either.

I filled the bottles with water and then filled the three birdbaths early in the week,.and check on the water levels from inside the house.... ready to refill as needed.

I have one more birdbath in the back garden (4th) but Haven't and WILL NOT try and pull it out of the weeds and wash it off.  (that's for Son and Daughter to read)...I mention things and they think I might try to do the things myself...NO.  I 100% know I cannot do what I used to do.......I will not drag a bird bath out of the weeds.  But ONE of you can....yes??????

Today's book is Murder List.  Garwood.

I have melted Arnica under my tongue and hope it works on the stiff muscles in my shoulder and neck.  Hurts.  It has been working....I lift and roll the right shoulder hoping to ease the tightness... I can hear bones rubbing bone when I turn my head. Old Age is a Bummer.

Well, the couch is calling my name....and the heating pad is ready to go.  I might get so comfortable I fall asleep.....Ha!!! that never happens. (but new things are always possible)...but today is NOT a day when I can Swiffer another room.  It's the couch and heating pad for me.  Take care...I'll be back tomorrow.

Daily Notes for Wednesday August 26th. Sunshine here in Maine...76 degrees

Postcard from Provence.

My hair is quite WIDE this morning......but not as WIDE as my hips. (that could be the first two lines of a poem.)

My  decades old clothes fit- even a bit loose.... but my arms, hips and legs look MORE substantial than they have in quite a few years. If ever.......so not sure what is going on.  But it COULD be my eyeglasses making everything larger. Except for cookies...they don't seem larger.

My son says I hardly eat anything.  I would mostly agree to that but....things I like.... I do eat those things.   I still enjoy my Ham and Swiss roll ups.. one a day.  And my toddler sized ice cream cups possibly one a week..?  They are hardly ever on the grocery list.. and bananas...for potassium. One a Day. I rarely, if ever, have dinner.  Or make dinner.

I am reminding myself to have a glass of my "salty" electrolyte solution. I got the bottle out of the fridge and had a few gulps. Checking that off my list.  I have a few more gulps to empty the glass.  4 ounces.

Yesterday the "Spirit Moved Me" and I moved furniture around here in "my space" aka the living room/dining room .   Enough open space for dancing if that was something we ever did.  I'm glad the wall to wall carpet was removed decades ago..  I was thrilled to see expensive hardwood under the carpet. The guys removing the carpet wondered if the people who covered the hardwood were insane?  Stairs to the second floor also were carpeted....same hardwood under the carpet. Zero hardwood under my bedroom carpet...so we added some.  I love it.  Reminding me to use the Swiffer floor thing in there today. Got some dust. Under the bed.

So that's all for today... I'll sit on the couch and enjoy the  Swiffered (by me) expanse of hardwood.  The new setting of the table by the front window (shoved over by me).  There are still some fabric tubs that need to be carried --by some one younger----to the Sewing Room..  I have enough scraps of cloth here on the ottoman next to the place where I sit all day....to last FOREVER.......no need to stack up more.

I continue to watch  Hudson and Rex. (John Reardon is why I watch) As many episodes as they provide in the afternoon..  But did eventually see fit to record ones being shown later in the evenings.  The Park Ranger series is also on that (blue) station and I should be recording them....I found a channel (I GET!!!!!) with Law and Order all day long. (not BBC America)..but might save that for Winter.  Plus I've seen every episode several times.  I can practically say the dialogue along with them from memory.

Sigh.  Well, I wrote a lot when I started out thinking I had nothing at all to say.

Daily Notes- Tuesday August 25th.

Postcard from Provence

Dentist.. was actually perfect yesterday.  So that was excellent.

I'm melting two Arnica under my tongue to try and get rid of the snap crackle of my neck bones. Tension I guess.  From yesterday or from this morning's shower....At my age I worry pretty much the entire shower expecting a slip and fall.  Was just fine and my hair is bouncy and starting to curl as it dries.

I am going to sew the strips (eventually) of red I found yesterday after a massive search...... to the small rectangle of strips of darker red and black.  I looked everywhere for that fabric and. Then found it about 2 feet away from where I was sitting...under  bunch of things.

Watched the Canadian Police procedural yesterday....two episodes. Then two recorded episodes of Antiques Roadshow.  Today I plan to read and rest my neck.

The grape vines out back have stopped flowering and are now perhaps making grapes????  We desperately need it to rain.....but I doubt it will.

Global Warming is giving us a Shock Treatment Warning this Summer. Hot. Dry.  Hotter. On Fire.

The two large pots on top of one of my German Cupboards are now in the garbage bags.  Next time daughter visits I'll ask her to climb on the step ladder and vacuum the leaves off the top.  I know better than to think I CAN.  Climb on a step ladder safely.  Actually, if honest, I was never safe climbing ladders.

Monday, August 24, 2026

Daily notes for August 24th. Cloudy outside here in Maine.....Dentist Appointment for me. ICK...

 Postcard from Provence Art.

I've said this many times before- so reminds me of the path to the right of my front door when I lived in Germany....brings back good memories.  there was a restaurant down the path to the right...sort of a Beer Garden.  We went once. Husband and I.....and then never again. He just couldn't "have fun" with me. It was mutual for sure.

I watched TV yesterday instead of reading.  Cable tv is expensive if you can never find anything to watch. I settled on this BLUE  STATION something Police Procedural set in  Canada....just north of Maine... seacoast living with cottages painted in candy colors....like they are here in Maine if you drive far enough along the Atlantic Coast.

The cottages are vintage here in Maine with zero insulation.  Meaning no one lives in them once the weather gets chilly.  Ah the Sun has arrived.

I have been trying to renew a prescription.  With my Primary Care Doctor Office.  The recored message says they are "too busy" and I should email them. Thru my Patient Portal.  Everyone who thinks I'll do that put up your hand.........not doing that. Ever.  Last time I was there they didn't schedule an annual checkup either........too busy.  They might fit me in if I email the portal.  Laughing.

So Dentist.....I really really do not like Dentist Visits...usually just cleaning which is   UGH!!!!!! Ruins my entire morning just thinking about going.  Well, I am going to try the prescription thing once more.
